La manifestazione si colloca nel quadro del PRIN Improvvisazione/Composizione: la doppia identità della musica europea, finanziato dal MUR in cinque sedi universitarie italiane.
Il progetto triennale, diretto da Gianmario Borio, ha come obiettivo un fitto scambio di nozioni e idee tra musicisti e musicologi riguardo all’evoluzione del rapporto tra improvvisazione e composizione a partire dal 1600.
I musicisti si confronteranno con un gruppo di musicologi – Valentina Bertolani, Gianmario Borio, Vincenzo Caporaletti, Maurizio Farina, Sabine Feisst, Marc Hannaford, Kai Lothwesen, Ingrid Pustijanac e Veniero Rizzardi– sulle questioni chiave della pratica improvvisativa: l’interazione di gruppo, le nuove tecniche strumentali, il deep listening, i molteplici rapporti tra suono, rumore e silenzio.
The event is part of the PRIN Improvisation/Composition: the Double Identity of European Music, funded by the MUR in five Italian universities.
The three-year project, directed by Gianmario Borio, aims at a dense exchange of notions and ideas between musicians and musicologists regarding the evolution of the relationship between improvisation and composition since 1600.
Twelve performers, selected through participation in a call for application will take part in this workshop. In the practical sessions, each afternoon the three teachers will work separately with three ensembles; the results of this training will be available in a concert open to the public on 28 October at 7.30 pm. The aim of the event is to convey notions, principles and techniques that characterised a phase of great creativity in this field and remain relevant today.
The musicians will confront a group of musicologists – Valentina Bertolani, Gianmario Borio, Vincenzo Caporaletti, Maurizio Farina, Sabine Feisst, Marc Hannaford, Kai Lothwesen, Ingrid Pustijanac and Veniero Rizzardi – on the key issues of improvisational practice: group interaction, new instrumental techniques, deep listening, the multiple relationships between sound, noise and silence.
