Extemporisation, Improvisation and Composition in Jazz: Analysing Enrico Pieranunzi’s European Trio

On Nov. 17 and 18 in Fermo e Macerata. The workshop targets individuals with expertise in real-time creative and improvisational processes, including scholars and musicians.
IMPROCOMP Workshopm Macerata 2023

The sessions, moderated by Vincenzo Caporaletti, are organised as an open dialogue between musical praxis and critical enquiry according to the formula of a continuous exchange of information between musicians and workshop participants.
The aim is to bring out the notions, principles and techniques that effectively characterise real-time improvisational processes, in the wake of a broad aesthetic-musicological reflection.

The sessions will be held in the auditorium of the Conservatorio “G.B. Pergolesi” in Fermo and will be entirely dedicated to interaction and critical investigation in direct dialogue with the musicians involved in the workshop: Enrico Pieranunzi (piano), André Ceccarelli (drums), Thomas Fonnesbæk (double bass). In the afternoon of 17 November, a round table discussion will be held in the Conservatory auditorium.
The workshop will conclude with a concert-event by the Enrico Pieranunzi Trio at the Lauro Rossi Theatre in Macerata.

Participation in the workshop is free of charge
